Quicky update.

September 3, 2011

Haven’t accomplished much since the last post. However, I have connected with a welding contractor and it looks like the cockpit hatch will be installed next Friday. I’ll end up with a 24×45 inch hatch, with a frame of 1.5×1.5 angle iron so I can bolt down a cover.

It will be a cash job, the young lad is going through a messy divorce and is more than interested, especially since I mentioned the possibility of doing more work for me, such as moving the main cabin hatch and the companion way hatch so I can put in a sliding cover instead of the fold in two  abortion that I have now. It’s a thought anyway. I’m also seriously considering extending the deck house all the way to the transom so I can build in a small aft cabin. Otherwise there is just too much space wasted on this boat the way she is.

I can’t wait to see what you do with the layout when its all over. Its so nice being able to rearrange things the way you want.

  2. That particular item has me pulling my hair out in clumps. I’d be much happier if the compression post was either 14 inches forward or 16 inches further aft. Where it is right now is a monumental PITA. Right now I’m contemplating relocating the head aft to where the galley was and putting the galley in the head. And that damn compression post is still futzing up the planning. At least I have a large scale drawing of the top view so I ‘m going to print up a few blank copies and start moving cardboard cut outs around to see what can go where. Oh well I still have time to figure that out.
