Things are starting to happen.
Just a small note, the patch is now seaworthy. The contractor is a hell of a good welder, and the patch has been re done inside and out. I cleaned the area up yesterday and put the first coat of epoxy on. So far, so good. Next task will be to put in the new baby stay attach point and fill in the massive hole where I removed the cable locker. After that it’s on to carving up the cockpit.
On the “time needed to work” front, the vacation problem has been resolved. I had a conversation with the union rep, then checked the schedule and found 4 weeks where no one else was on holiday. Submitted my request and they had no choice but to give it to me. So, I work this coming Saturday, then am off for two weeks, work a week and then two more off. By the time that is over, it will be pretty close to haul out and the yard will be full again. So, all the welding will have to be finished, at least all of it that has any potential to send sparks to the next boat over. The inside bits can be done without any problems. I’ll be going down to the yard tomorrow to make preparations for the stay and cover work.
Pics to follow, when I remember to bring the camera home from work.
Yay.. Progress in a forward direction.. the best kind!
Good to hear that things are working out for you.
